It was an honour to coach the U12 team today at the tournament. I was so impressed with their attitude and drive to do their best hockey and have fun along the way.
We played 3 games, 2 wins and 1 draw but I’m calling us tournament winners as we had the best goal difference. Player of the tournament went to Jake (his 1st tournament) who stepped into the role of sweeper like he was born to do it, keeping the team in the game with some epic defending and also got a goal. Well done!
1st game against Royston, 4-0 win with goals from Magnus (x2), James and Felix. Some excellent position and passing play which gave the team confidence. Special mention to Felix who kept pressure on their defence the whole game. MoM- Magnus!
2nd game against Bluehearts , 1-0 win with his first goal from Jake! A very close game and our team ran their socks off, some good tackles from Martin on the left. The match easily end to end, and wherever you looked, Travis was there. Strong tackles at the back, excellent passing and creating space. We were all on the edge of our seats desperate for a goal. There were so many chances but Jake sent it home. MoM- Travis
3rd game against Letchworth, 0-0 draw. The only game against a team with a keeper, we were forced to contain Jake to the D But who needs a keeper when you have our defence, led by Jake who claimed nearly every ball, two saves on the line from Teddy (1st tournament and you would never know it). Special mention to James who nearly got a few goals (their keeper kept them in it) but he kept running back to help out his defence. MoM- Edward.
