Harpenden hosted the first Under 8s festival of the season and it was a delight to see our training sessions put into practice. We hosted teams from St Albans and Hertford, and it was fantastic to be able to field six teams.
Our most experienced team were playing in White and won every game. We also had great success for our Black, White2 and Green teams. Whilst introducing newer players to tournament formats in our Grey and Yellow squads, gaining good experience to build on for the next one.
Many thanks to coaches James, Ian, Ross and Andy. Also thanks to Coach Rachel for offering to come and help even though her daughter couldn't make it today.
It was also great to have some of our older superstar juniors help out with umpiring the little ones - thanks to Lily, Oscar and Charlie. Umpiring is a part of being a club member and so great to have the help and encourage umpiring through the club.
Maybe some of the current Under 8s will be playing in the adult first and second teams like these three in ten years time?
